How do I determine which smart meter is right for my electrical system?
Selecting the correct meter depends on your electrical system type (single-phase or three-phase) and the maximum amperage you need to measure. Our Omnimeter line is universal and works with most systems, but we recommend checking our wiring diagrams or contacting support to ensure compatibility with your specific breakers and CTs.
Do your meters require a monthly subscription fee for data access?
No, our basic data viewing software and local data monitoring are subscription-free. However, for advanced cloud-based analytics, remote data storage, and automated reporting via the EKM Push system, we offer various plans to suit residential and commercial requirements.
What is your return policy for electronic components and meters?
We offer a 30-day return policy for items in new, uninstalled condition. Because our products are precision electronic instruments, returned items are subject to a testing and restocking fee to ensure they meet original factory specifications before being resold.
How long does shipping take for international orders?
We ship globally via DHL and FedEx. International orders typically arrive within 3 to 7 business days, depending on the destination and customs processing times. Please note that customers are responsible for any local import duties or taxes.
Are EKM meters revenue-grade and certified for billing?
Yes, many of our meters are California Type Approved and meet ANSI C12.1 and C12.20 standards for accuracy. This makes them suitable for submetering applications where tenants or departments are billed based on their actual energy consumption.
What kind of warranty is provided with EKM Metering products?
All of our hardware products, including Omnimeters and Communication Sheilds, come with a standard 2-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
